Brushos & Color Shine

Hello Friends,

My son really surprised me with a gift of Brushos for Christmas. I had not told anyone that I wanted them and didn't think my family would know anything about them. If you don't know what Brushos are, just look it up on You Tube. You really have to see this pigment powder in action to appreciate it. Just a tiny speck turns into a burst of colour when you activate it with water. I practiced on different types of paper, adding a bit of Heidi Swapp Color Shine for a bit of glitz. Here are a few cards I made with my Brusho backgrounds.
I also die cut some butterflies (53) from the lovely papers. I used black cardstock and a gold gel pen for the centers.

Brushos are made in the UK, but they now ship to North America. I don't know when they started doing that because I had given up on ever getting them quite a while ago. I tried to make my own (from chalk pastels) a couple of years ago, but it was a dismal failure. Really the intensity of the Brusho pigment is quite stunning. They are not cheap, but a tiny amount is all you need for a project. I poked push pins into the lids of mine. When I want to use them, I shake out an almost imperceptible amount and spritz it with water for a burst of colour. You can wet your paper first as well.

My son got me another wonderful art supply for Christmas, but I will save that for another post.

Hugs & smiles,
Teresa
