Tape Transfer Technique

Hello Friends,

If you are a regular follower, you know I love recycling box-board into art. It makes lovely, artsy tags and great art journal pages. I thought I was done with this page when I came across this technique over at His Kingdom Come. A new technique is introduced every Sunday and I knew I just had to try this one. First, here is my original page.
Basically what you do is print out a copy of your drawing. Then you smooth packing tape over it. You can also use clear contact paper, but I couldn't find any in my local stores. Burnish it down good, then fill up the sink with warm water. Let your drawing soak for about 15 minutes. When it is thoroughly saturated you can gently rub off all traces of paper. Your drawing will now be transferred to the tape and you can adhere it to your page.
I realized that I forgot one step. I should have darkened my print-out. It doesn't show up very well, especially with my busy background. I wanted it to be somewhat subtle, but not that much. I rescued it by tracing with a permanent Sharpie ultra-fine marker.
I often pray for God to bless our precious First Nations People and my art sometimes becomes my prayers. This was one such instance.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Hugs & smiles,
Teresa
