Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone!

I am really excited about this new year. I actually got my craft space completely organized. I will take some pics and try to show you soon.

I should have gotten this posted before the end of the December, as it was a Christmas present. This is another mixed media canvas. I have lots of pics. I hope you don't mind.
The above background represents 3-4 layers of collage, paint and Gelatos. The vintage pictures came out of an old book that I picked up at a library sale. I altered the book into my first art journal, but saved some of my favourite pictures.
Flower embedded in handmade paper.
One of the papers I used in my collage was a handmade paper with flowers and leaves embedded into it. It was given to me a long time ago and I finally found the perfect use for it.
Vintage picture
This vintage bridal procession inspired the verse I later decided to use on this piece.

You can see the red and blue Gelatos I used here. Once I caught the inspiration from the first picture, I decided this picture would represent Jesus with his bride, the Church.
Finished Canvas
Here is the finished canvas with verse and embellishments added. It didn't need much since the background was so rich and had those two vintage pictures.
A jeweled heart and a piece of tulle, covered in glitter, seemed like a good addition for this couple.

I printed and cut out the verse, accenting the edges and the fancy letter F with my gold gel pen.

Finished Canvas, taken in daylight.
I gave this canvas to a very dear friend for Christmas. I think she really liked it.

Happy New Year and may you be blessed with peace, prosperity and love in 2015.
